Sano Babu Sunuwar and Lakpa Tsheri Sherpa win the award for National Geographic Adventurers of the year

Two Nepalis – Sano Babu Sunuwar and Lakpa Tsheri Sherpa have won the people choice award for National Geographic’s Adventurers of the year 2012. With more than 72,000 votes, they were given the award for their Ultimate decent. The duo first climbed Mount Everest, then launched a paraglider down and finally kayaked Ganges all the way to the Indian Ocean.

Their ultimate combination of sports, audacity, and friendship drew the duo to the idea which has earned them huge recognition from all over the world. Their effort now has added another brick to the development of tourism in Nepal and has recognized Nepal as one of the best locations for adventure sports.
