Kathmandu. The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the District Administration Offices across the country not to torture borrowers in the name of loan recovery, take away goods from their homes and put pressure on them by staying at home until the installment is paid. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Peace, Security and Crime Control Section of the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a letter to the District Administration Offices to implement the agreement reached with the Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizens Rescue Mega Campaign, Nepal. The government and the campaign had reached an agreement on various issues on August 20. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Ministry has clarified that activities such as physical or mental torture to the borrower while recovering the loan, picking up goods from the house, pressuring and arresting the employees of the organization staying at home until the installment is paid, abusing or misbehaving will be illegal.TAG_OPEN_p_5 <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Victims of such acts can file a complaint with the concerned District Administration Office. If the complaint is received, the Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the administrative offices to take necessary action as per the prevailing law. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The ministry has also urged the district administration offices to implement the necessary implementation and coordinate with the concerned authorities as per the agreement and the decision of the cabinet.
