Kathmandu. Pakistan has claimed to have carried out drone and air strikes at 10 different locations in Afghanistan. Islamabad has said that this is a response to the drone attack attempt said to have come from Afghanistan. <\/p>\n
According to Pakistan’s Communications Minister Ataullah Tarar, Pakistan carried out aerial and drone strikes on 10 locations said to be used for launching and storing drones using the “sovereign right of self-defence”. He claimed that the strikes were “well-planned, precise, limited and focused only on military targets”. <\/p>\n
The attack followed Pakistan’s air strikes in Kunar and Paktika provinces of Afghanistan a few days ago. Afghanistan said three civilians were killed and four others wounded at the time. <\/p>\n
Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid accused Pakistan of targeting civilian settlements, calling it a “repetition of attacks and crimes”. He claimed that Pakistan had taken such a move to divert attention from its own internal security problems and warned of a “befitting response”. <\/p>\n
According to local media TOLONEWS, Pakistani fighter jets had earlier attacked various areas of Barmal district and Kunar in Paktika. According to the United Nations Afghanistan Assistance Agency, 399 civilians were affected by cross-border armed violence in Afghanistan from April to June 2026. During this period, 57 people were killed and 342 injured, including 40 women and 112 children. <\/p>\n
The United Nations Afghanistan Assistance Agency has said that all the cross-border civilian casualties recorded in Afghanistan during the period are linked to Pakistani security forces. Paktia, Ranqa and Kunar are among the provinces most affected by the airstrikes.
