Kathmandu. Himalaya Airlines is all set to resume direct flights from Kathmandu to Shanghai. The airline will start regular flights from Tribhuvan International Airport to Shanghai Pudong International Airport from September 28. <\/p>\n
According to the airlines, initially there will be two flights a week on the Kathmandu-Shanghai-Kathmandu route. There will be flights from Kathmandu on Monday and Friday and from Shanghai on Tuesday and Saturday. <\/p>\n
The flight from Kathmandu to Shanghai will depart at 6:25 pm and arrive in Shanghai at 2 am the next day. The flight will depart from Shanghai at 3 am and arrive in Kathmandu at 7:10 am. The flight time will be fixed according to the local time. The service will operate from Kathmandu to Shanghai from September 28 to October 23 and from September 29 to October 24 from Shanghai to Kathmandu. <\/p>\n
According to Himalaya Airlines, with the resumption of services on the Kathmandu-Shanghai route, the airline will become the only commercial airline to operate regular direct flights in the region. The airline hopes that the resumption of direct flights will help tourists coming to Nepal from China as well as the tourism and hospitality sector will be able to resume at the time of the start of Nepal’s main tourist season. Vijay Shrestha, Vice President of Himalaya Airlines, said that the Kathmandu-Shanghai flight will help in expanding trade, tourism and people-to-people relations between Nepal and China. <\/p>\n
