Kathmandu. One person who was arrested by the police from the place of playing cards has died. One person is being treated for injuries. <\/p>\n
Lalu Paswan was playing cards at his house in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-6 at around 11.30 pm on Monday when the police patrol team reached him. Balram Koirala, 55, of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-14, who was arrested in the incident, died on Tuesday morning. Chandan Mukhiya, 41, of Biratnagar-8, who jumped from two floors, suffered a fracture in his right leg. <\/p>\n
According to Makendra Kumar Mishra, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Morang, 8 people were arrested from the place where they were playing cards on Monday night. When the police patrol team arrived, Koirala suffered minor injuries when the people playing cards ran away. Mishra said that seven people, including Koirala, were taken into custody on Monday night after their condition was found normal during the health check-up. The injured are being treated at Shree Hospital. <\/p>\n
Koirala, who was in custody along with seven other people, was found unconscious at around 7.30 am on Tuesday. The police had sent him to Koshi Hospital for treatment after the others did not wake up when they tried to pick him up. <\/p>\n
He was admitted to Nobel Teaching Hospital after he could not be treated in Koshi. Doctors at Nobel Teaching Hospital declared him dead at around 11 am on Tuesday. According to DSP Mishra, information officer of Morang police, his body is at Nobel Hospital. <\/p>\n
According to the police, Koirala had already undergone a head surgery. The cause of his death is yet to be ascertained, Mishra said. <\/p>\n
On Monday night, after seeing the police patrolling team, the people playing cards ran away. Initially, the police did not know that they were playing cards there. Chandan Mukhiya, 41, of Biratnagar-8, who jumped from two floors when the police arrived, broke his right leg. He is an ambulance driver. <\/p>\n
Police had arrested Sajan Rajbanshi, 33, of Dhanpalthan Rural Municipality-6, Satya Narayan Rajbanshi, 52, Toran Yadav, 48, of Biratnagar-4, Rajesh Kamat, 26, Ganga Ram Mandal, 53, and Bishnu Kamat, 43, of Biratnagar-6. <\/p>\n
Police confiscated Rs 48,395 in cash from them. <\/p>\n
