KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the entire state is reaching a situation where it cannot exercise its independence.

Chairman Oli said that there is no alternative to agitation to make the country at least capable of exercising freedom and independence without allowing the situation to deteriorate further.

Administering oath of office and secrecy to the three nominated central members of the party at the party central office in Chyasal today, he said there was no alternative to preparing for agitation.

Stating that the country has not been able to exercise its freedom at present and its independence has been fragmented, he said the country should at least be able to exercise its independence.

“State terror has been created in such a way that no one can speak in the country, hooliganism is prevailing and the government is heading towards unbridled fascism,” he said.

Oli further said that the responsibility has fallen on the shoulder of the party as the CPN (UML) has been moving ahead with the grand goal of building a modern Nepal by taking the national aspiration of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ as its destination.

He clarified that the party cadres could be enthused only when they move ahead in a united and disciplined manner on the basis of the party’s right policy and ideology.

Stating that the second series of regression was not the election held on March 4 last year, he expressed the belief that the CPN (UML) would win the upcoming local level elections as it was in favour of truth, justice, country and people.
