The Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) has stopped a group of royalists who were preparing to welcome former King Gyanendra Shah at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) after his return from Jhapa. The administration has banned such programmes saying that the election code of conduct has already come into force. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Issuing a notice on Tuesday, Chief District Officer Ishwar Raj Poudel said that his attention has been drawn to the content disseminated on social media about the preparations for demonstration and rally in and around the airport.TAG_OPEN_p_38 He also clarified that no one has taken prior approval from the administration for such activities. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The administration has said that the election code of conduct is currently in force and the possibility of infiltration by anti-election groups in such programs has also been taken into account.TAG_OPEN_p_37 Similarly, the Ministry has urged the people not to organize any kind of rally, demonstration, strike, rally or gathering in view of the management of Mahashivaratri on February 13, respecting the religious, cultural values and security at sensitive area like the International Airport. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

This decision has also been taken to ensure smooth movement of passengers to and from the airport, according to the administration.TAG_OPEN_p_36 It has also warned against inciting or inciting such activities through social media. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
