KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said that the parliamentarians should play a clear role to make the budget session of the House of Representatives effective. He said the parliament should become a forum to convert people’s hopes into confidence. <\/p>\n
He also extended support to the government in positive works without any prejudice and wished the new Prime Minister and Council of Ministers success. Government Success Question,<\/p>\n
“It will depend on pressure, accountability, transformation and policy-keeping and pace,” Sharma said. <\/p>\n
He questioned the role played by the lawmakers of the ruling party Rastriya Samajwadi Party in the parliament. <\/p>\n
In a video message, Sharma said, “I thought that after the parliament was running for one and a half to two months, what kind of question would he have to face? In an attempt to turn the court into a rubber stamp, a new avatar of silence appeared!\u00a0 New rules that allow lawmakers to go to parliament with their logo even if corruption cases are filed, not to be suspended! \u2019<\/p>\n
He added, “If you meet me on the way, any young person will ask me that my Class 12 exams were going on. Our tent was demolished at that time without even giving us an alternative, did you raise this issue in the parliament? Hon’ble Judge, what should we do then?\u00a0 Silence! Although the problem of landless squatters needs to be addressed, it should be seen from the humanitarian perspective, he said. He also expressed his dissatisfaction over the incident of bulldozer being operated in a Buddhist monastery in Kathmandu on the day of Buddha Purnima and stressed the need to resolve the problem in a mature manner by coordinating with the stakeholders. <\/p>\n
