Kathmandu. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) navy said 33 more ships crossed the Strait of Hormuz in the past 24 hours. It is said that the ships used the route safely with the coordination and permission of the IRGC. <\/p>\n
“Oil tankers, commercial and container ships have crossed the water,” the IRGC said in a statement. The IRGC Navy is responsible for the security of these ships. <\/p>\n
The IRGC navy has claimed that the Strait of Hormuz has been “smartly controlled” in response to the insecurity in the region following the US invasion. <\/p>\n
According to the navy, a total of 117 ships have used the waterway from Tuesday to Saturday. <\/p>\n
The IRGC has also made it clear that ships must coordinate with their forces and obtain permission before crossing the waterway. <\/p>\n
Mohsen Rezaei, a senior military adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, said on Sunday that Iran has a legal right to manage the Strait of Hormuz. He said the move was aimed at preventing a potential military offensive on national security, not to stop free trade. <\/p>\n
Ebrahim Rezaei, a spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian parliament, said that the situation in Jalmagard would not return to what it was before the war. He said the area was currently under Iranian control and that shipping could be eased once the war ended. <\/p>\n
Rezaei said Iran’s uranium enrichment program could not be a subject of negotiations under any circumstances and that the US would be forced to accept Iran’s terms. <\/p>\n
Iran has tightened its control over the Strait of Hormuz since February 28. <\/p>\n
On the same day, after a joint military attack on Iran by the United States and Israel, Iran banned the safe passage of ships related to the United States and Israel. <\/p>\n
