Kathmandu. 6 members of the House of Representatives have not submitted their property details within the stipulated time. <\/p>\n
The Federal Parliament Secretariat had given time till Sunday, May 24 to submit the property details but six lawmakers did not submit the details. <\/p>\n
Spokesperson of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Joint Secretary Ekram Giri, said that 254 lawmakers have submitted their property details within the stipulated time while six have not submitted their property details. There are 17 ministers in the 275-member House of Representatives. The minister submits the property details to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. <\/p>\n
According to the Secretariat, an incumbent minister and a lawmaker who left the cabinet have also submitted their property details. <\/p>\n
According to Section 50 (1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Sub-section (1) of Section 31A of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority Act, a person holding a public office should submit an updated property statement along with source or evidence of property in his\/her name to the designated agency or official within 60 days from the date of assuming public office.
