Kathmandu. The posts of two ward chairpersons elected by the Nepali Congress have been stripped. Rabindra KC and Padma Bahadur Bista, who were elected to the post of ward chairperson in the local level elections of 2079 BS, were stripped of their posts. <\/p>\n
KC was the ward chair of Musikot Municipality Ward No. 2 of Lumbini Province while Bista was the ward chairman of Dhurkot Rural Municipality Ward No. 3 of Lumbini Province. <\/p>\n
The Election Commission (EC) has issued a notice that the posts of both ward chairpersons are vacant after the Nepali Congress informed the Election Commission along with the decision of the Central Work Execution Committee. <\/p>\n
As per the provision, the post of the elected person becomes vacant if the people’s representatives of the local level leave the party in which they have been elected and join another party. <\/p>\n
