Kathmandu. The fruit market at Kuleshwor in Kathmandu has started getting Nepali mangoes produced in various parts of the Terai, especially in Lahan and other areas. Traders say that with the increase in the supply of Nepali mangoes, Indian mangoes are gradually displacing them from the market. <\/p>\n
According to traders, consumers have started choosing fresh and local products as Nepali mangoes have started arriving in the market on time this year. This, they say, has also reduced the demand for Indian mangoes. <\/p>\n
Currently, the price of Nepali mangoes in the market varies according to size, quality and variety. According to Kuleshwor Fruit Market, a crate of 22 kg Bombay mangoes is priced between Rs 1,500 and Rs 1,700. Similarly, a 22-kg mango is being sold at Rs 1,400 to Rs 1,600 while a 21-kg mango is being sold at Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,600. <\/p>\n
