A Cultural and Creative Industries Friends Group (FOR CCI) has been formed for the development and expansion of the creative industry. <\/p>\n<p>After the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) and Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) became members of the UNESCO Creative City Network among the local levels, the joint efforts of the local level as well as the bodies and offices including UNESCO, British Council, FCA, ILO and people associated with the creative sector have started. The first meeting was organized by Lalitpur Metropolitan City. <\/p>\n<p>Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol presided over the second meeting on Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>In course of the meeting, acting chief Dangol said that Kathmandu chose the film genre because it can incorporate other genres of creative industry and make creative economy dynamic at the community level. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The hidden stories within the community of Kathmandu can be linked to the plot and characters of the movie, Kathmandu can be developed as an open studio,&#8221; she said. <\/p>\n<p>On the occasion, Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Chiribabu Maharjan, said that Lalitpur Metropolitan City has been granted membership in UNESCO Creative Cities Network through the music genre. <\/p>\n<p>On the occasion, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Suresh Suresh Shrestha, talked about the Culture Policy-2067 BS and said works on the topical amendment of the cultural policy were underway after the promulgation of the Constitution of Nepal in 2072 BS. <\/p>\n<p>On the occasion, British Council Country Director (Nepal) Rustam Modi, UNESCO Nepal Representative Jacques Du Toit and other officials appreciated the efforts made by Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Lalitpur Metropolitan City for the development of creative industries. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
