Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)’s Lima Adhikari Acharya drew the attention of the government towards poor condition of integrated settlement constructed on the bank of Keshliya (Budhi Khola) at Biratnagar metropolis-12. <\/p>\n
Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, she said the settlement constructed with tripartite partnership of the metropolis, Habitat Nepal and private sector has become a burden of debt for the landless squatters. <\/p>\n
She said, “The settlement built on the bank of the river in Biratnagar Ward No. 12 is a prosperous settlement. This settlement is an extreme example of the poor. The settlement, which is a tripartite partnership between the metropolis and Happiness Nepal and Private Life Development, is not a home for the squatters. \u2019<\/p>\n
According to her, the settlement lacks basic infrastructure. According to him, there is no arrangement of road, drainage, drinking water and electricity in the district. She added that around 100 households built on the river banks are at risk of inundation even during normal rainfall. <\/p>\n
“It’s management or policy fraud,” she said. There is no road, no drainage. There is no drinking water. There is no electricity. As many as 100 houses built on the river bank without any security embankment get submerged in normal rains. \u2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
