Kathmandu. The Department of National Identity Cards and Registration (DoR) has launched a service to download the e-national identity card. <\/p>\n
Issuing a notice on Thursday, the Department said that the service has been brought into operation on a trial basis through the Department’s citizen portal with the objective of providing easy service to the citizens under the 100 agendas related to governance reforms of the government. <\/p>\n
According to the Department, from June 19, 2083, the Citizen Portal will be able to download photos, online verifiable QR codes and password-protected ‘Provisional National Identity Cards’. <\/p>\n
Citizens of Nepal who have already obtained the national ID number can download the e-national ID card by entering his\/her name (Nepali or English), date of birth and date of citizenship issue. <\/p>\n
The department has urged the citizens to keep the downloaded e-national ID card safely. Likewise, the public bodies and service providing institutions have been requested to scan the QR code on the e-national identity card and verify the details to be presented by the citizens. <\/p>\n
Prior to this, the service was being provided on the basis of the national identity number printed from the department’s citizen portal. <\/p>\n
