Kathmandu. Prime Minister and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) senior leader Balendra Shah has arrived in Chitwan today. He arrived in Chitwan a while ago to participate in the party’s first general convention. <\/p>\n
NC President Rabi Lamichhane and senior leader Shah are scheduled to jointly inaugurate the general convention at 2:00 pm today. <\/p>\n
Around 4,000 delegates from home and abroad are taking part in the general convention. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which was established in 2079 BS, is leading the government with a two-thirds majority in the elections to the House of Representatives held on March 4. <\/p>\n
The first general convention of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Party (RSP) to be held at the Guesthouse ground in Bharatpur is being watched with great interest in the political circles. Spokesperson of Rastriya Samajwadi Party Manish Jha said that almost all the management works required to make the general convention systematic have been completed. <\/p>\n
According to spokesperson Jha, the process of selecting representatives from the liaison committees of the districts, provinces and abroad has been completed. According to RSP, the party has increased the number of members to Rs 5 lakh. <\/p>\n
The central committee meeting held in Chitwan on Thursday has already amended the statute to be presented in the general convention. The closed session will be held at the meeting hall of the Chitwan Industries Association. <\/p>\n
The first general convention will elect 158 central committees including 19 office-bearers. Spokesperson Jha said the general convention would hold extensive discussions on the party’s statute amendment, policy proposals and contemporary political issues. <\/p>\n
