According to the Department of Money Laundering Investigation, the main link in the investigation against the Deuba couple is the property in the name of their only son, Jai Bir Singh Deuba.TAG_OPEN_span_66 Jai Bir has purchased around 73 ropanis of land in the Kathmandu Valley and outside in the last few years. <\/span><\/p>\n

According to a police officer, “How did the members of the Deuba family, who are not involved in any big business other than politics, acquire such a huge amount of land?TAG_OPEN_span_65 This became the starting point of the investigation. The department has been searching the source of their movable and immovable properties after obtaining arrest permission from the Kathmandu District Court. <\/span><\/p>\n

The ‘Secret’ of the Genji Movement and Budhanilkantha Niwas <\/b><\/p>\n

The Deuba residence (rest house) at Budhanilkantha was set on fire during the recent Zenji agitation.TAG_OPEN_span_64 Some of the remains found inside the house after the arson have given a new twist to the investigation. According to unconfirmed reports, the department had recovered the bullets and some secret documents that were burnt during the arson, which have been sent to a laboratory for testing. <\/span><\/p>\n
