Earlier, the High Powered Committee for Integrated Development of Bagmati Civilization had issued a notice on June 23 directing the authorities to vacate the holding center by June 26. The committee issued a notice again today and said that the deadline was extended on the basis of complaints that the time period was short. <\/p>\n
The notice issued today reads, “As per the prior notice of this committee, the time limit has been extended till 2083\/03\/19 in view of the complaints that the time period for receiving house rent has been shortened as per the previous notice of this committee.” \u2019<\/p>\n
Request to apply with bank account number by June 29<\/strong><\/p>\n }<\/p>\n The government had on April 22, 13, 19 and 20 removed the squatters living in the Kathmandu Valley by using bulldozers. After this, their details have been registered at Dasharath Stadium and kept in holding centers at different places. <\/p>\n Those in the holding center are preparing to leave by paying Rs 25,000. He has been asked to appear at Dasharath Stadium on June 29 and apply for Rs 25,000 along with his bank account number. <\/p>\n However, the stakeholders have protested saying that the squatters are being sent out of the holding center by paying Rs 25,000 without proper management. <\/p>\n They complained that they were kept in the holding center for management within 60 days after being removed from the river bank. <\/p>\n They have warned that if they are forcibly evicted from the holding center without providing a permanent alternative or showing a place to stay, they will be forced to return to the old settlement and set up huts. <\/p>\n The number of squatters who registered their names as landless squatters after the demolition of the settlement was 2,608.
