Kathmandu. Minister for Youth, Labour and Employment Ramji Yadav has been elected as a central member of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). <\/p>\n
Eight other members of the Council of Ministers were elected to the central committee of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). <\/p>\n
Minister Yadav had filed his candidacy for the post of open (national) central member. A total of 210 candidates had filed their candidacies for the post of 64 open (national) central members. <\/p>\n
Yadav got 869 votes out of a total of 2,959 votes cast in the first phase of local elections. <\/p>\n
Of the 17 ministers in the Balen Shah-led government, eight including Yadav had filed their nominations for the party’s central committee. <\/p>\n
Except for Yadav, seven other ministers have been elected to the central committee of the RSP. <\/p>\n
Likewise, Minister for Foreign Affairs Sishir Khanal, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha and Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam have been elected to the central committee. <\/p>\n
Similarly, Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security Minister Sita Badi, Minister for Health Nisha Mehta and Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Environment Geeta Chaudhary have also been elected to the central committee. <\/p>\n
As per the amended statute, the party has 158 central members. Of them, 99 have already been elected in the first phase of the election. <\/p>\n
Of the remaining 51 presidents, Rabi Lamichhane will nominate them while seven province presidents will be ex-officio members. <\/p>\n
In the first phase of elections, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle got the highest number of votes. He garnered 2,607 votes, according to the Election Commission formed by the party. <\/p>\n
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Gautam got the second highest number of votes. Gautam garnered 2,594 votes, according to the Election Commission. <\/p>\n
Minister for Foreign Affairs Khanal has garnered 2,495 votes while Minister Shrestha has garnered 2,094 votes. The vote they got is on the open side. Votes from the diaspora are also added to this. <\/p>\n
Social Security Minister Badi garnered 1,751 votes, Health Minister Mehta garnered 1,861 votes and Agriculture Minister Chaudhary garnered 890 votes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
