Kathmandu. Ganesh Nepali, 25, of Soru rural municipality-1 in Mugu district who was critically injured in a self-immolation attempt died while undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital. <\/p>\n
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dilip Ghimire of District Police Range, Kathmandu, Nepali died after his health deteriorated. <\/p>\n
Earlier, organising a press conference here today, the hospital had said that the health condition of Nepali migrant workers was highly unstable and further complications may come up anytime. Doctors at the hospital said they could not say anything for sure about his condition and that it could worsen at any time. <\/p>\n
He suffered burns on 55 percent of his body. Doctors involved in the treatment said that it was very difficult to save him as the fire had caused serious damage to his face and respiratory tract. He was kept on a ventilator in the Burn ICU ward of Bir Hospital. <\/p>\n
Coordinator of the Department of Plastic Surgery, Dr. A 21-member special team was mobilized under the leadership of Piyush Dahal. The team consists of unit chief Dr. Dr. Apar Lamichhane, Critical Care Nirma Gyawali, anaesthetist Jaya Prakash Thakur, Pvt. Ltd. Dr. Dr. Biram Shrestha and health workers of the nursing service were also involved. <\/p>\n
As the patient’s condition worsened, preparations were made to take him to New Delhi, India for further treatment. However, the hospital said that it was not possible to shift him as his health condition was not stable. Despite the best efforts of the doctors, he finally died while undergoing treatment. <\/p>\n
