Kathmandu. CPN-UML lawmaker Ain Bahadur Mahar has strongly criticized the government over the death of Ganesh Nepali. <\/p>\n

Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Friday, Mahar said he had reached the House after inspecting the situation directly from Bir Hospital. He said that the condition of the hospital is very emotional and the scene is very painful for the general public. <\/p>\n

He said, “I have just arrived in the House from Bir Hospital a little late. I have not seen the scene of Bir Hospital, Mr. Speaker. There is no situation for any ordinary person to go to Bir Hospital right now, nor is there a situation to see it. It’s a very emotional situation. \u2019<\/p>\n

The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Nepali, 25, of Mugu. He expressed his dissatisfaction that it was difficult to meet the family members of the deceased and that the body has not been handed over to the family so far. He also objected to the tight security arrangements in the hospital premises. <\/p>\n

“I didn’t have to repeat a lot of things here,” he said. Ganesh Nepali, 25, of Mugu died while undergoing treatment. And what is ironic, the sad thing is that since yesterday, the family has not been allowed to meet in particular, when it comes to meeting the family members, with the relatives of the family. And so far, the body has not been handed over. The body is kept there with tight security by the police, as if he had committed a big crime. It’s very sad. \u2019<\/p>\n

Urging all to shun the tendency of stunting the government, he said it was a serious issue for the state that people had to resort to extreme steps like self-immolation. He accused the government of pushing the people including squatters into despair and extreme agony in recent times. <\/p>\n

He said, “Before yesterday, some people were saying that the Home Minister came there last night and stayed here. I would like to say to the government, the former speaker has also made a lot of points here. The government had to give up the habit of doing stunts. The stunt had to be stopped. The state had to lift citizens from the place of self-immolation. And the state is forcing its citizens to self-immolate. \u2019<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n
