The Ministry and the Department have said their serious attention has been drawn to the complaints and complaints that essential food, beverages and clothes of daily consumption are being sold illegally through various physical markets as well as digital (online) platforms. <\/p>\n
The notice issued by the Department reminded that consumers’ right to quality goods and services has been ensured as per ‘Consumer Protection Act, 2075’ and ‘Regulation 2076’. “Illegal adulteration, smuggling and selling sub-standard goods are punishable and unforgivable,” the notice reads. <\/p>\n
In line with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies’ policy to maintain market hygiene, the Department has directed all the entrepreneurs involved in production, import, transportation, hoarding and selling and distribution to fully comply with the obligations, conditions and restrictions as stipulated by the law. <\/p>\n
