Kathmandu. Veteran Cape Verde goalkeeper Vojinha has joined Chile’s top division club Colo Colo after his outstanding performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. <\/p>\n
The 40-year-old left Portugal without a club after his contract with second-division club Chavez expired. <\/p>\n
However, his impressive performance in the World Cup caught everyone’s attention. He won praise for his excellent goalkeeping performance, especially in the goalless draw against eventual World Cup winner Spain. <\/p>\n
Kolo Colo president Anibal Mosa confirmed that he would join the club, saying: “Vozinha will now be a player from Kolo Kolo. He will arrive in Chile in a few days, where he will be formally unveiled at the Estadio Monumental after completing a routine health check-up. \u2019<\/p>\n
Moses said Vojinha deserved the opportunity after his performances at the World Cup. At the same time, he believes that his arrival will benefit the club in terms of sports as well as marketing. <\/p>\n
Colo Colo, based in Chile’s capital Santiago, is currently at the top of the country’s top league, the Liga de Primera. <\/p>\n
However, the transfer process is yet to be formally completed. The club took to social media to share a photo of Bhojinha sporting his familiar curly hair, hinting at his arrival. <\/p>\n
Vojinha became a cult hero among fans after scoring Cape Verde for the first time in the World Cup against Spain. Since then, he has millions of new fans on social media. <\/p>\n
Cape Verde, the second-smallest nation in World Cup history, also faced a major challenge against Argentina in the last 32. <\/p>\n
However, they lost 3-2 in extra time and were eliminated from the tournament. Lionel Messi’s Argentina finally reached their second consecutive World Cup final. <\/p>\n
