The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has decided to adjust the VAT collected along with the electricity tariff in the month of August to remove the confusion related to the Value Added Tax (VAT) in the bill for the coming month of August. Issuing a public notice, the authority has said that the VAT paid by the customer will be adjusted in the bill of August. <\/p>\n<p>According to the NEA, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has been registered with VAT from Shrawan 1, 2083 BS as per the provision of VAT on electricity service as per the Finance Act 2063. After that, VAT was included in the monthly electricity tariff bill issued as per the rules. <\/p>\n<p>It is stated in the notice that even if the bill for electricity consumption up to July 16, 2083 is received on or after July 1, 2083, the consumption before July 17, 2083 includes electricity power as an essential commodity under Schedule-1 Group 2 of the Finance Act, 2083.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
