KATHMANDU: The United States of America has decided to permanently enforce the provision of deposits on tourist (B-2) and business (B-1) visas for citizens of 50 countries including Nepal. <\/p>\n<p>As per the new provision, Nepali applicants will have to deposit between $10,000 and $20,000 (about Rs 15,000-3 million) before getting a visa. Previously, the trial system set bail at $5,000 to $15,000. <\/p>\n<p>According to the US State Department, if the visa is rejected or if the visa is returned to the country before the expiry of the visa, the deposit amount will be fully refunded. <\/p>\n<p>According to the ministry, this provision has been made permanent to control the trend of overstaying in the US illegally even after the expiry of the visa. This rule will apply to citizens of 50 countries including Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan from South Asia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
