According to the Flood Forecasting Division, 37 districts including the Kathmandu Valley are at risk of floods today with the monsoon becoming active and rainfall incremental. There is a risk of floods in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and surrounding districts Kavre, Sindhupalchowk, Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading today. <\/p>\n
Similarly, there is the possibility of moderate risk of flash floods in Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Makwanpur, Parsa, Bara, Gorkha, Manang, Mustang, Lamjung, Tanahun, Kaski, Parbat, Syangja, Palpa, Gulmi, Baglung, Chitwan, Nawalparasi (east), Nawalparasi (west), Rupandehi, Surkhet, Dailekh, Achham, Doti, Dadeldhura, Kailali, Kanchanpur and surrounding districts. <\/p>\n
The Division has also urged people to adopt precaution as there is a possibility of flash flood in the river banks. Possibility remains for brief rain at many places of hilly region and moderate rainfall at some places of Tarai region towards the afternoon. Meteorologists have urged all to stay alert as heavy rainfall is taking place at one or two places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces. <\/p>\n
Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at a few places of the hilly and terai region tonight and tomorrow. According to meteorologist Ujjwal Upadhyay, the monsoon is fully active and there is possibility of rain throughout the country until Monday. He advised people not to travel on the hilly road section except for the most essential today and tomorrow. <\/p>\n
He advised the people to travel especially on the Dhulikhel-Roshi-Mulkot section of the BP Highway and the Naubise, Malekhu-Muglin-Jugedi section of the Prithvi Highway only after understanding the condition of the road.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
