The government has approved the new pay scale of civil servants as per the salary hike for the current fiscal year 2083\/84. The meeting of the Council of Ministers on the proposal of the Ministry of Finance has approved the new pay scale and facilities of civil servants, Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, health service, parliament service, teachers of community schools and employees of the province and local levels to be effective from July 17. <\/p>\n<p>The salary of the Chief Secretary and the Chief of Army Staff has been fixed at Rs 90,594 each. Earlier, their starting salary was Rs 84,932 but after the grade increase, the total salary has increased to Rs 90,594. <\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the salary of the Inspector General of Nepal Police, Inspector General of Armed Police Force and government secretaries has been fixed at Rs 84,576. <\/p>\n<p>According to the new system, the salary of the first-level office assistant who gets the lowest salary in the government service has increased to Rs 28,984. The starting salary of non-graded employees (Halkara, Postal Officer, Office Helper) was Rs 27,172 while the total salary has increased to Rs 28,984 after the grade addition. <\/p>\n<p>Along with the new pay scale, the government has also arranged a 10 percent monthly incentive allowance for the employees. According to the circular issued by the Ministry of Finance, the government will provide 10 percent of the grade amount equivalent to one day&#8217;s salary and 10 percent of the salary maintained after the increment. <\/p>\n<p>Salaries of teachers and health services also increased {{TAG_OPEN_strong_19 TAG_CLOSE_strong_19}}<\/p>\n<p>The minimum salary of secondary level teachers (first class) has been increased to Rs 74,958 while the minimum salary of primary level teachers has been increased to Rs 34,426. The salary of the health service officer twelfth level has reached Rs 84,576. <\/p>\n<p><strong>10 percent increase in pension<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>}<\/p>\n<p>With the increase in salary, the pension amount of retired employees i.e. pensioners will also increase by 10 percent. <\/p>\n<p>According to the Ministry of Finance, this new salary scale has come into effect from July 17, 2083.
