Clarification sought on the basis of complaint of violation of code of conduct

Kathmandu. The Election Commission (EC) has been seeking clarification from political parties, candidates, government officials and some organizations on the basis of complaints of violation of the election code of conduct. As of Monday, the NHRC has sent letters to eight people from Kathmandu and Koshi provinces seeking clarification on the issue.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) candidate from Kathmandu District Constituency No. 4 Dr. Surendra Bhandari and Chief Minister of Koshi Province Hikmat Kumar Karki have been asked to clarify under various clauses. So far, candidates like Kharel, Basnet, Mansuri and Pokharel have not submitted their answers.

According to the Election Code of Conduct-2082, the Election Code of Conduct-2082 (2082) which prohibits the election publicity from hurting the sentiments of children, senior citizens, women, sexual and gender minority, and people with disabilities.

The EC has already cautioned Jagadish Kharel as he is the only one who has submitted a clarification so far. The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and the National Sports Council (NSC) have also failed to respond to the commission within the deadline.
