Kathmandu. An American journalist has been kidnapped in Iraq’s capital Baghdad.
Iraqi and U.S. officials believe he was kidnapped by Iran-backed militias. American freelance journalist Shelly Kittleson was kidnapped on Tuesday evening.
The Iraqi Interior Ministry has arrested a man as he pursued the hijackers.
The hijackers belong to the Iran-backed Kataib Hezbollah militia. In recent years, Iraq’s Islamist militias have also been attacking US bases in favor of Iran.
