Kathmandu. Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Khusbu Oli expressed serious concern over the government’s behaviour in the process of evicting squatters.

Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, she said although the settlement of squatters was managed, the process was halted only after the bulldozer was used to destroy the settlements.

But she criticized the government for not showing any sympathy for the incidents.

“The management of the slum was definitely an important issue,” she said.

But it was only after the settlement was demolished that the RSP itself pleaded with the government and said that the bulldozer should be stopped. When stopped, two men were forced to commit suicide. Even when their lives were over, the government did not seem to have expressed any condolences.

What do you understand from this? Does this indicate how far the government is from the ordinary people? There is also a class and caste of death. The death of the poor will be ignored. ’

She said the decision to displace the party without proper management was a serious failure not only of policy but also of human sensitivity. He said that both the government and the RSP should take political and moral responsibility for the incident.
