Kathmandu. Opposition CPN-UML lawmaker Rajendra Kumar Rai has warned that if the government did not take concrete steps to control the monkey menace within a week, the parliament session would not be allowed to run.
Stating that the government was not serious about the problem even after the lawmakers raised the issue in the parliament time and again, he said that it would be difficult to run the parliament meeting if proper steps were not taken within 7 days to resolve the problem.
Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, MP Rai said that the government should be serious to control the problem caused by monkeys. He also questioned why the government, which has taken control of mischievous citizens, did not want to control the monkeys that torment the people?
Lawmaker Rai said, “If a person misbehaves, the police will arrest him. He is imprisoned. Today, the monkey has killed hundreds of people. Hundreds of people could not eat lentils, rice and vegetables. Why is the government not serious about this? I want to say that among many things done by this government, first of all is the monkey that has a big problem in the lives of the people. If this monkey is not controlled, then there is a big problem in changing people’s lives. Therefore, I would like to draw the attention of this government to solve the problem of monkeys immediately. ’
Lawmaker Rai said the government should not lag behind in taking any steps to free the people from the menace of monkeys.
