Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has urged the incumbent government not to disturb the constitutional system of separation of powers, checks and balances.

Speaking after the all-party meeting organized by the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) today, he said the government should be more responsible and mature in the absence of an alternative as the opposition in the parliament is mathematically weak.

“The opposition in the parliament is mathematically weak and there is no alternative. Therefore, we are in a state of deprivation. In such a situation, the principle of separation of powers and the system of checks and balances should not be violated. ’

Urging not to behave immaturely in the matter of foreign relations, he stressed the need of restraint and maturity in diplomatic affairs.

“He did not behave immaturely on the issue of foreign relations. The country is not only of winners but also of losers. The entire country has to bear the brunt of the wrong activities of the government. Therefore, it should be treated maturely,” he said, “I want the Prime Minister to give a speech on the border.” Let the RSP president go to India and carry the burden of the past. It means a lot. ’

According to him, everyone has equal responsibility towards the country as it is not only the side that wins the election but also the side that loses.

Referring to the Prime Minister’s remarks on border and the context of President Rabi Lamichhane raising the issues of the past during his India visit, he said such remarks would have serious meaning from the diplomatic and political point of view.
