Kathmandu. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam, has said that the ordinance related to Public Procurement Act should be brought to remove the complexities seen in the Public Procurement Act.

She said this while responding to the queries raised in the House of Representatives (HoR) on Friday in response to a proposal presented by main opposition Nepali Congress lawmaker Khadak Bahadur Bishwakarma seeking to reject the Public Procurement (Second Amendment) Ordinance-2083.

“The parliament session has been closed. It has been raised many times in this parliament that the Public Procurement Act has always been a problem. The government was trying to figure out how to address it. In this connection, an ordinance has been brought to amend the provisions related to public procurement and expedite it. Now it is time to bring a replacement bill,” she said.

He claimed that the government has eased the task of resolving the burning problems of the people by amending the bill which even the lawmakers had raised questions for long.

Minister Gautam also said that the government was moving ahead at a speedy pace to resolve the problems of the people.
