Kathmandu. Coordinator of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has said there was no alternative to unity among the communist movement and addressing the people’s aspirations.

Speaking at a program organized to integrate the CPN with central committee members after rebelling from the Biplav-led party, coordinator Dahal said unity among the communist forces was a historic necessity to save the nation and take the movement forward in the right direction. He clarified that the NCP was formed not under any impulse but by realizing the role that the leadership should play in the difficult and extraordinary situation of the country.

“The nation is in trouble. There is no alternative to uniting to save the nation, to save the movement and to address the people’s aspirations. This is the historical need of today. The formation of the NCP was not done on impulse. ’

He lamented that the Biplav leadership has missed the opportunity to gain power by bringing as many communist elements as possible into the unit.

“The Biplav leadership has missed the opportunity to gain power by uniting as many possible components of the communist movement in Tama by adopting the role that the leadership has to play in today’s difficult and extraordinary situation of the nation. The Biplav leadership was getting a lot of respect for the unity,” he said.

Coordinator Dahal said that they have given special importance to Biplav and accused him of becoming more disturbed and disoriented after the Zenji movement. At the same time, as a comrade sitting with him, he urged the people to introspect and said that everything has not been lost yet.

He said, “We used to give a little more importance to Biplav ji. But after the Jenji movement, the Biplav leadership became more agitated. He was very upset. You got caught in a big whirlpool. We have no hatred or resentment. But as a comrade sitting next to me, I want to say that this is the time for you to introspect. All is not lost yet, if you introspect and come together, we are ready. The country is in an uncomfortable situation. If we do not unite and launch a nationwide campaign, the country may be heading towards another disaster. ’
