Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said his party was committed to make Nepal corruption-free within the next five years. Thapa said this while speaking at a press release and question-answer programme organized by the Nepali Congress at the National Assembly Hall in Kathmandu.
He said, “The Congress does not look at the relatives and leaders of the people involved in corruption while talking about this. Whoever is found to be corrupt, whether it is the president or any other office, does not have the right to hold public office. He said that corruption will be investigated against the leaders of any party after 2047 BS. He said that now the service should be citizen-centered instead of office-centered. He stressed that the work should be completed within the stipulated time.
President Thapa said that arrangements should be made to compensate the citizens for the delay in getting the service on time. “If you say that anything in public service will be made in a day, it should be done in a single day,” he said. The service should be available in one hour rather than in one hour. How to use technology for this? How to amend the existing laws and how to build physical infrastructure and provide services to the citizens at home. ’
According to him, the NC has planned to provide digital public service for 7 days, 24 hours a day and compensation to the citizens in case of delay in service.
