Suhang Nembang of CPN-UML is leading in Ilam-2, Sudip Rai of Labour and Culture Party is in second place.

Kathmandu. CPN-UML candidate Suhang Nembang has taken a lead in the by-election held in Ilam constituency-2. According to the latest data released by the Election Commission, Suhang has garnered 9,388 votes.

He is followed by Sudip Rai of Labour and Culture Party with 7,742 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Bhesh Raj Acharya came third with 5,020 votes.

Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Gokul Bahadur Rai came out fourth with 2,340 votes. Likewise, Om Bahadur Gurung of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) got 678 votes.

According to the vote counting data, the votes of other minor parties and independent candidates are low. A total of 28,265 votes have been counted so far, according to the Election Commission. Of them, 26,593 votes were valid while 1,672 votes were invalid. The counting of votes is underway.
