Three arrested with USD 28,900 from Tribhuvan International Airport

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three persons in possession of USD 28,900 from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu.

The arrestees have been identified as Anita Lama, 45, of Nargajun Municipality-1, Kathmandu, Sangita Lama, 38, of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-6, Sindhupalchowk and Binod Lama, 47, of Lisankhupakhar Rural Municipality-7, Sindhupalchowk.

They were on their way to Guangzhou of China from Kathmandu on a China South flight yesterday. Police recovered $10,000 each from Anita and Sangeeta and $8,900 from Binod.

Police have sent the arrestees to the Department of Revenue Investigation at Pulchowk, Lalitpur for further investigation.
