Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Entrepreneurs has come up with a 7-point suggestion to resolve the problems seen in the foreign employment sector.

Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Dipak Kumar Saha has submitted a 7-point suggestion for the reform and management of foreign employment sector.

In the suggestions submitted by the association, it has requested to determine the country-level cost of workers and maintain financial transparency. The association has demanded that the maximum cost of travel to each labour destination country should be determined and implemented.

It has also demanded attestation of demand letter and necessary corrections. It has also demanded the arrangement of labour attaché as per the Foreign Employment Act, arrangement of the interest on the deposit kept by the manpower company in the account of the company and the arrangement of getting interest at par with other private businesses.

The association has also demanded to remove the financial burden of verifying the police report. After the Genji agitation, the UAE has been charging Rs 14,700 per worker in the name of verifying the police report.

They have also demanded access to the visa stamping process at the Saudi Embassy. The association has also demanded to revoke the recent decision of the Department of Foreign Employment.

The Department has made provision for the workers going abroad for foreign employment from April 29 to compulsorily show the receipt of air ticket and service charge paid to the manpower company at the airport.

Stating that the effective implementation of the decision would not be possible without policy-level reforms, the association has demanded that the implementation of the decision should be carried out only after the policy-level reform.
