Kathmandu. The meeting of the House of Representatives under the Federal Parliament is taking place at 4 pm today.

Secretary General of the Parliament Secretariat, Padma Prasad Pandey, said that various important agendas will be presented in today’s meeting.

Prime Minister Balendra Shah is scheduled to table a copy of President Ram Chandra Poudel’s address to the joint session of the Federal Parliament.

Similarly, the Speaker will present the vote of thanks for the President’s address.

The main attraction of today’s meeting is the election for the post of Deputy Speaker. Lawmaker Gyan Bahadur Shahi will present a proposal seeking the election of Saraswati Lama to the post of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, which will be seconded by Tahir Ali Bhat, Khusbu Oli and Bharat Giri.

Likewise, lawmaker Aren Rai presented another proposal seeking to elect Ruby Kumari to the post of Deputy Speaker. Ashok Kumar Chaudhary and Ambika Devi Sangraula seconded the proposal.

Today’s meeting is expected to take forward the process of electing the leadership of the House of Representatives and start the formal process on the policies and programmes presented by the President.
