Kathmandu. CPN-UML lawmaker Suhang Nembang has demanded removal of obstruction in tea export.
Speaking in the zero hour of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, he said, “The export of tea has come to a standstill. ’
Stating that this has affected farmers, workers, industrialists and the country’s economy, he said, “Diplomatic initiative should be taken with the Indian government.” The bottleneck in tea export should be resolved. ’
There is a 163-year-long history of tea production in Nepal and more than 15,000 farmers and 60,000 labourers are currently involved in it, he said.
