Kathmandu. Amaresh Kumar Singh, a lawmaker from Rastriya Samajwadi Party (RSP), has demanded that the government immediately make payment to sugarcane farmers. Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives, he said that the sugar mills have not been able to pay the sugarcane farmers so far.

Singh said that sugarcane farmers have not been able to get the subsidy provided by the government. Sugarcane farmers should be paid soon and the amount given by the government should also be available to the farmers soon.

He also demanded the management of fertilizer as the planting season is about to begin. “There is no availability of fertiliser yet,” he added. After 10-15 days, the planting season begins.

He drew the attention of the government that more than 50,000 people in ward nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Barahathawa municipality in Sarlahi district were facing displacement due to the erosion of the Bagmati river.
