Kathmandu. Iran and its allies have completely blocked the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the semi-official Tasnim news agency, Iran will completely block the Strait of Hormuz and instead activate other options, including Bab al-Mandeb. Iran has suspended mediated talks with the United States over Israel’s move in Lebanon and the exchange of draft proposals, Tasnim reported.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Saeed Abbas Araghchi said in a post on social media that any violation of the ceasefire between Iran and the United States on any front is a violation of the ceasefire on all fronts. Iran said in a statement that talks will not take place until Israel’s demands for an immediate end to Israeli operations in Gaza and Lebanon are met.
The ceasefire in Lebanon was one of Iran’s preconditions for the resumption of the ceasefire it signed with the US in April, but it has now violated the ceasefire on all fronts. Tehran: Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Galibaf said the US naval blockade and Israel’s war crimes against Lebanon were “clear evidence that the United States has not abided by the ceasefire”.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghhai told a weekly news conference that the talks to end the war had been stalled due to “new and contradictory” US demands. Iran and the United States signed a ceasefire on April 8 after 40 days of fighting.
They held a round of peace talks in Islamabad on April 11 and 12 but failed to reach an agreement.
