KATHMANDU: The Cabinet meeting held on Friday has taken four different decisions including recommending the appointment of Nepali ambassadors to 13 countries.
The meeting also decided to send the names recommended for the post of ambassador to the Federal Parliament for a parliamentary hearing.
The government has recommended Dr. Nischal Nath Pandey for India, Dr. Kalyan Raj Sharma for India, Chiran Jung Thapa for the United States, Gaurav Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana for the United Kingdom, Saru Joshi for Germany, Suresh Kumar Karna for Israel, Prapti Sherchan for Spain, Jigyan Kumar Thapa for Japan, Dr. Padmakshi Rana for Malaysia, Prof. Chudamani Kharel for Malaysia, Prof. Madhav Kumar Thapa for South Korea. Dr. Sangam Shrestha for Sri Lanka, Dr. Manchala Jha and Giri Bahadur Sunar for Saudi Arabia.
The meeting also decided to approve the Nepal Citizenship (Fifth Amendment) Regulations, 2083. Similarly, the Government of Nepal (Division of Work) Regulations, 2083 have been amended to make the Department of Meteorology, which was under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Environment, under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.
According to government spokesperson and Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel, the meeting also decided to appoint Longevity Kumar Shrestha to the vacant post of Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and to promote Joint Secretary Rudra Singh Tamang to the post of Gazetted Special Class Secretary.
