Supreme Court to hear hearing on ex-PM Deuba’s arrest warrant

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) is scheduled to hear the issue relating to the arrest of former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Monday.

Deuba and others had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court against the arrest warrant issued to them.

After the preliminary hearing on the writ petition, a single bench of Justice Megh Raj Pokharel ordered the hearing on Monday keeping the case in priority.

On that day, it will be discussed whether the arrest was in accordance with the permission process.

A single bench of Justice Pokharel said that the Deuba family had pledged to cooperate in the investigation, former Prime Minister Deuba’s health condition and the jurisdiction of the court to issue the arrest warrant should be considered in the court’s decision.
