US Charge d’ Affaires Boldyn pay courtesy call on PM Shah

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Acting Ambassador to Nepal, Megan Boldin, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Balendra Shah at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar today.

On the occasion, Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the US government for solidarity and assistance to Nepal at this difficult time of this disaster.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister said that foreign citizens along with Nepalis have been affected due to the disaster. He also said that they have to face this phenomenon as a result of climate change. He also stressed the need to further strengthen global cooperation and collective efforts to reduce the risk of climate-related disasters and address their impacts.

Likewise, highlighting Nepal’s unique tourism potential and opportunities that could be mutually beneficial through the development of tourism sector, Prime Minister said Nepal would always welcome US investment.

During the meeting, Charge d’ Affaires Boldin expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and property due to the floods in Rasuwa and extended condolences to the bereaved families and affected communities. She expressed solidarity with the government and people of Nepal at this difficult time and said that the US government was ready to provide necessary support and cooperation in relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts.
