It is the responsibility of the state to protect and regulate private sector: Speaker Aryal

Kathmandu. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has said that the state should protect and regulate the private sector by creating investment-friendly environment.

Addressing the ninth Nepal Land and Housing and Construction Exhibition 2026 here today, he said the private sector was taking big risk for the country’s prosperity.

In his address, Speaker Aryal said the state is like a partner of 28 to 30 per cent non-investment in the investment of private sector.

“The state should formulate clear policies, provide security to the private sector and provide necessary regulations,” he said, adding that the government should focus on result-oriented works and issues rather than wasting time by abusing past history and politics. ’

Speaker Aryal stressed the need to end the compulsion of Nepali citizens to go for foreign employment. He said that apart from study and research, the situation of going abroad for basic household expenses, school fees of children and medical treatment should be ended.

Recalling that he has been involved in foreign investment and work for the past 30 years with the same objective, he said whether the state has presence in the country or not while working there should not be question.

He said, “Nepalis should be removed from the compulsion to go abroad. Apart from my studies, the days of going abroad to buy a wife’s saree, to pay the school fees of the children, to go abroad for family members should end. I have been working on this for almost 30 years. I have also invested in many places, but it seems that there is a government and the state. ’

Stating that the situation of demolishing old buildings for the construction of new infrastructure has come in the major cities of the world, he pointed out that there is still a lot of potential for systematic infrastructure construction and development in Nepal. Presenting the statistics that the rural areas of Nepal are rapidly moving towards urbanization and about 80 percent of the households are receiving remittances, he pointed out the need to use this capital in the areas of productive construction and strengthening the country.
