Shopping for bamboo products in Siraha intensifies amid Chhath festival

Kathmandu. With the Chhath festival approaching, the hustle and bustle of the markets of Siraha has increased. The people who are preparing for the festival have started reaching the market to buy the necessary materials for the puja.

During the Chhath festival, the sale of items made of bamboo such as dhaki, nanglo, soup and konia, which are used to offer Arghya to the setting and rising sun, has increased. These traditional materials used to store puja items are considered an integral part of the Chhath festival.

As the festival approaches, the demand for bamboo products has increased in the market and the festive atmosphere is also being added to the local market. With the start of preparations for Chhath Puja in every house, the markets of Siraha have started to become festive.
