Kathmandu. The Embassy of Nepal in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has urged the Nepali community in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) not to spread rumours and post any unsafe content in view of the evolving security situation in the UAE.
The ‘Advisory-3’ issued by the embassy requests people not to post, broadcast or share sensitive information, videos or photos related to the current situation in the UAE through social media or other digital means.
The Embassy has appealed to the Nepalis to be responsible, saying such activities could spread confusion about the security situation.
All the UAE residents have to abide by the laws of the UAE and they have been warned not to indulge in illegal and unauthorised activities.
According to UAE law, those found guilty can be imprisoned for 1 to 3 years and fined between 100,000 and 200,000 dirhams.
The embassy has also urged people not to go near the debris that fell on the ground while intercepting missiles or drones, take pictures or make them public.
The embassy has advised the Nepali community to fully comply with the security standards issued by the UAE government and to use only the official sources of the relevant government agencies for truthful and authentic information. It is also requested to regularly visit the Embassy’s official Facebook page for updates.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs, Media Offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and Emirates News Agency have been requested to provide information only through official notifications.
The embassy has appealed to all Nepalis in the UAE to stay aware, safe and responsible.
