Kathmandu. Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Mahabir Pun, has stressed the need to prepare competent human resources even if temporary management was made if there is a shortage of required human resources.

Speaking at a meeting of the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee on Wednesday, he stressed the need of providing education and training to the people concerned.

During the discussion on the bill, Minister Pun said that the expert working in sensitive field like forensics should have a Master’s degree in the related subject. He said that the standard should be revised according to the time by comparing the present situation with the past educational situation.

He also said that in the case of forensic training, only the training received from a recognized university or certified institution should be recognized on the basis of general training.

“There has to be a little bit of specificity about his training,” he said. Where did the training come from? Have you trained from a certified institute, a certified university? The only thing that we should recognize is that we have done a general training, it should be specific. ’

He said that the bill should clearly include the electronic (digital evidence) along with the chemical, physical and biological evidences. He said that digital evidence should be managed legally as the importance of digital evidence in crime investigation has increased.
