Rabi Lamichhane on Sunsari incident: Don’t politicise sensitive incident

Kathmandu. Rabi Lamichhane, president of Rastriya Samajwadi Party (RSP), has said that his serious attention has been drawn towards the recent incidents in eastern districts including Sunsari.

Issuing a statement today, the entire party rank and file said that the entire party rank and file was shocked by the tense situation caused by the incident.

“It is our firm belief that problems, dissatisfaction or disputes cannot be resolved through violence and confrontation. The greatest strength and beauty of Nepali society is our pluralistic culture, mutual unity, tolerance and centuries-old social harmony. ’

We appeal to all the general public, civic leaders, religious and social personalities and the stakeholders not to do anything that could disturb the constitution, communal or social tolerance.

He said that the main need of the hour is to exercise high restraint without following any kind of provocation and rumours.

“We are in constant coordination with the Government of Nepal and local administration to restore peace and security, protect the lives and property of the general public and normalize the situation in this sensitive situation,” the statement reads. ’

They have also drawn the attention of the government to take stern legal action against the culprits by conducting an independent, impartial and speedy investigation to the root of the incident and to provide justice and relief (compensation and free treatment) to the victims.

“The Rastriya Swatantra Party is always in favour of peace, justice and social harmony. We are in constant discussion to play every positive role necessary from the party’s side to normalize the situation and seek a peaceful solution to the problem through mutual dialogue. ’

We have made a special appeal to all the political parties and bodies concerned not to politicise the sensitive and tragic incident in any pretext.

He also directed all the members of the local committee of the RSP to play a supportive role in maintaining peace and harmony.
